-> I KNOW my modem is on com2, but it has NEVER worked with QB or -> PDS (or QBasic for that matter). Could it be QB itself? There is a 'feature' (never use the other word) of QB, and maybe PDS, where if you only have one serial port, and it is COM2, the com routines do not work properly. With only one serial port in the machine, DOS puts the port address of that port in the BIOS Data Area for COM1. However when you open COM2 in QB, it looks in the BIOS Data Area for COM2 for the port address. If you only have one serial port in your machine this may be your problem.
